My clients managed to drop a bombshell on me for this job. The original design was to create a patio area big enough for 70 guests as they enjoyed entertaining on a regular basis. They also had a family of three boys two off which were below 11 years of age so I considered this when putting in a lawn area to the upper level.

The patio area you can see had to be dug out first and there was approx 100 tonnes of soil and clay dug out. The flagstones we used were Swaledale weathered Yorkstone and the wall was constructed out of Broadstone Madoc Walling. However, three days later before completion came the bank holiday weekend.

My staff and I had worked very hard up until this point so we decided to take the 3 days off to spend time with our families. My client's on the other hand went to the real home displays at Earls Court in London they purchased a Jacuzzi measuring 14 feet by 28 feet and 5 feet deep. When we returned to the job on the Tuesday my client's informed me of there new addition to the garden .

The Jacuzzi was to be put behind the wall right in the middle of the lawn I had laid for the kids. Ideally this should have been done first because of the extra 200 tonnes of dig out 7 cubic metres of concrete, Water lead electrics and drainage. The job was eventually completed 1 week later and in my opinion is a perfect example of the job doesn't always go to plan.
